Welcome to Willow Class!

Throughout their time at Caistor C of E and Methodist Primary School your child’s emotional well-being is at the forefront of our practice.  We believe that a happy and settled child will be open to learning opportunities and highly motivated to learn.

We have an enthusiastic and experienced team of practitioners whom take a holistic approach to teaching to ensure that children are able to develop to their full potential, in all areas of the curriculum.

Please see our 'Information' section to view our Early Years ethos and policy in full.

This half term our topic is...

The children in Willow class will be reading some of their favourite traditional stories. The children will then take part in a wide range of activities, which will be planned with staff alongside the children, designed to spark their imagination and ignite their desire to learn.

During the term, Reception children will join the rest of Key Stage 1 for a trip to see 'The Gruffalo's Child' and will be invited to attend school dressed as their favourite fairytale character.

EYFS Unit

Reception and pre-school children (3-5 years old) are taught together in a new, purpose built Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) unit. The unit provides free-flow outdoor access all day but we also make good use of the woodland area and fields within the school grounds.

PE

We have a timetabled PE session in the hall every Friday. Reception children need a named school PE shirt, black shorts and a pair of plimsolls in a drawstring bag. We ask for these to be kept in school incase we need to change our PE session. We will return them at the end of every half term for washing. Please ensure everything is named!
