Welcome to Willow Class!

Throughout their time at Caistor C of E and Methodist Primary School your child’s emotional well-being is at the forefront of our practice.  We believe that a happy and settled child will be open to learning opportunities and highly motivated to learn.

We have an enthusiastic and experienced team of practitioners whom take a holistic approach to teaching to ensure that children are able to develop to their full potential, in all areas of the curriculum.

This half term our topic is...

Our school focus this term is 'Red, White and Blue' so Willow class will be busy focussing their learning around People Who Help Us. We will learn about the jobs which people do in our own families, school and local community. We will find out about the emergency servies and look forward to some visitors too!

A day visit to Tattershall Castle early in the half term will enhance ongoing learning around British Values and life in the past.

We will also be learning about why Easter is celebrated and its importance to Christians, plus lots of chocolatey fun later in the half term! Get ready for our Easter Egg Decorating competition during the last week of term!

Reception and pre-school children (3-5 years old) are taught together in a new, purpose built Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) unit. The unit provides free-flow outdoor access all day but we also make good use of the woodland area and fields within the school grounds.

Willow class is taught by a team of experienced qualified teachers and practitioners. We usually work the following days but we do sometimes swap to cover absence and illness.

We are happy to meet with parents to discuss any matters relating to your child and we ask that parents/carers arrange a mutually convenient time with staff at end of the school day. Alternatively you can contact class teachers via Class Dojo.

We have a timetabled PE session in the hall every Friday. Reception children need a named school PE shirt, black shorts and a pair of plimsolls in a drawstring bag. We ask for these to be kept in school incase we need to change our PE session. We will return them at the end of every half term for washing. Please ensure everything is named!
