Theological Underpinning

Biblical teaching is wide and varied and through the year the school explore different stories and biblical quotes that represent their vision and values. Below are some examples of how the vision links with overarching biblical teaching. Throughout the year the school may choose these biblical examples or others to explore the vision and values.

We believe that all members of our school community can flourish as learners and as fulfilled individuals.

Our vision for education is deeply Christian, with Jesus' promise of 'life in all its fullness' at its heart John 10:10. The bible teaches that Jesus promised life in all its fulness, this is not just spiritually fullness but in every area of our lives, including academically, socially, emotionally morally etc. We want all our school members, staff and pupils to flourish in all areas of their life.

We will provide rich opportunities for learners to engage and expand their world views.

It is important for us as school we give every opportunity for children to gain knowledge and understanding not just of their own lives, but of the lives of others and the world around them and that this knowledge prepares them for a future life. There are many verses in the bible that show that knowledge and understanding are important for humans. The book of Proverbs in the Old Testament gives guidance for life and Proverbs 1:5 explains that wisdom and guidance are important.

"Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance."

This verse emphasizes the importance of learning and growth. It highlights how wisdom and understanding come from actively seeking learning and guidance.

With joy in our hearts

Joy holds great significance from a biblical perspective, as it is considered both a gift from God and a command. The Bible repeatedly emphasises the importance of joy as a reflection of a vibrant relationship with God. It is through God's presence that true joy is found, as seen in verses like Psalm 16:11, which assures that being near to God fills us with joy. Moreover, joy is not just a fleeting emotion, but a source of strength, as Nehemiah 8:10 reminds us, "The joy of the Lord is your strength." Even in times of hardship, people are called to rejoice, knowing that their joy comes from the God and is not dependent on external circumstances (Philippians 4:4).

The Bible encourages people to be agents of transformation, not only through words but through deeds, showing kindness, compassion, and justice. Jesus’ example of serving others and loving one’s neighbour as oneself (Matthew 22:39) serves as a guide to how people can bring light to dark places. Acts of love, mercy, and justice can create a ripple effect, inspiring others to act in faith and righteousness.

We will deliver the Vision by:
